So another year passes by and again it is that time of the year when you lay down goals of becoming a better individual, to achieve what you couldn’t in the year that went by.  All in all it means laying down the New Year resolutions. Though I quite shun the idea of New Year resolution, like c’mon why only this day why not every day or every month for that matter, I am just going to write what I think will be the perfect “new year resolution wish list”

1. More Writing: Since I am a blogger, I might as well just say, “I will write more”. Not only on the topics that interest me, but also on the topics that don’t quite catch my fancy and they would include things like “Global warming, state of Indian Politics, third world countries and yada yada yada. Or may be instead of these boring topics I will just write on things that get me going music, books, movies, sitcoms, food, relationships and all that jazz…

2. Goes without saying, in order to improve my “blog content” I would want to use new words and flaunt my vocab and for that I would need to read more. So the list of books in “to read” list would be shortened and at the same time more books will be added to the list. So far, I haven’t been able to finish the last 30 pages of crime and punishment for the past 7 days. So not a very great start. Any suggestions for the books I must read, bring it on.

3. More music: I will sing “Main tera woofer and tu meri amplifier” on stage.  That is only when you pay me 1 Million dollars. Otherwise, I will explore more rock bands, particularly classic rock. I have one in the list already “The Who”. Let me know guys if you have examples of such bands. At the same time, I will learn a music instrument, guitar or may be drums. I will not just think, I will

4. Less gluttony: This has been the perpetual “new year resolution” for as long as I can remember.  Still, as they say, try hard till you succeed. So I shall eat more and more till I start eating less..

5. Spend less time on social networking sites: Take a survey and this would be the favourite pastime for most of the people (age no bar).  It’s quite addictive and once I even tried getting off from Facebook only to get a call from one of my friends that she couldn’t access my pictures. The time you spend on these sites is directly proportional to the boredom you are suffering from.

6. More wisdom: All the above mentioned points will form a part of this but it would also include being surrounded by people who talk more about ideas and less about other people, i.e. people who are more wisdomous (I know that’s not a word)than just quidnuncs

7. Getting different hair cuts: I love experimenting with different hairstyles (read disasters) but that shouldn’t stop me from getting a different hairdo even though I have had my share of bitter experiences already. The fact that my hair has no scope of being shortened further is a different story

8. Travelling: This is one territory which hasn’t been explored at all. The places I want to travel before I die are Venice and Italy, although I would be a fool to think of going to these places now. Until that dream is cherished, I am happy exploring the states of India (currently 28, in the future, I don’t know)

9. Not think too much: Silly as it may sound, what I have started to believe in is its better to think from your heart than your mind all the times. As that way, you get what you really want and also save time from procrastinating.

10. Little less conversation and a little more action: This is only to make the count to 10. But it would essentially sum up the whole babble of what this post is about. So instead of talking about what I want to do and what not to, I will just implement it.

Amen..!!
