A Commoner’s Arena

Ahh I am back…have been off for a long time now…busy with brother’s marriage and then hectic office schedule.

CAT results are out and here I am in the same boat as few of you…dreams shattered, introspecting what went wrong and taking few tough decisions of my life.

Have not been able to write since long but reading posts from you all on a regular basis…came through few posts depicting depression from few of you and thought of posting this poem which I wrote after I was rejected for the first time by the IIMs…

Maybe few of you find it motivating…

Ek armaan hai in aankhon mai,

Aur baki bas tanhayi hai,

Na jane kis mod par,

Takdeer mujhe le aayi hai;

Durr chamak raha hai bhawishya mera,

Ek aas jisne jagayi hai,

Mera path pradarshak bankar,

Ek asha ki kiran aayi hai;

Kal tak tha jo ek gumnaam andhera,

Aaj lagta hai ek ujjwal savera,

Shayad koi aaya hai bankar,

Ek anjaan parantu anmol saathi mera;

Durr hai dwaar safalta ka,

Aur kathin hai path bhi mera,

Lekin drad vishwaas hai mujhko,

Aayega ek din wo savera,

Aayega ek din wo savera,
