To India’s Independence Day – Jai Hind!!!

To India’s Independence Day – Jai Hind!!!
freeman-happy-independence-day
To the day of my country, and to the day to my freedom,
Though I was not born, but few were born to fight,
martyrs brought the freedom and smile back to many lives and faces,
which now blossoms like roses – a birthright to say;

Then we used to fight for freedom,
to fight outside people within our country,
today we fight within ourselves,
thou the race seems mysterious yet inevitable – none labels the race;

We were born free – a birthright of mankind so to say,
Corruption, violence and lack of transparent governance – pillars shaking India yet none to trace,
Farmers are painstakingly sentencing their life – a black truth,
We fear to raise voice against all and none - we turn mute spectators again and again;

Yeah You too…may i hebb your attention pliss

THE GB ( don’t make me faint by telling you haven’t heard of him) is holding a contest for his readers. He has come out with a book by the name of may-i-hebb-your-attention-pliss , details of which can be accessed here.

1. On your blog, provide a link to this page. (http://greatbong.net/book). Embedding the above picture in your blog would be nice but not needed.
2. Then write down your top 10 Hindi movie lines or top 10 English movie lines (You can do both if you want. Only one set is required for the contest). If you cannot think of top 10, make it top 5. Cannot think of even 5? Make it top 3. No problem. Only restriction: no two lines from same movie. This done to make it fair for other movies so that they dont get swamped by Gunda or Loha or Sholay.
3. Tag five friends to do the same.
4. Come over to the comment-space of GB’s post and post your blog’s link so GB can go and read it.

Avatar’s Pandora Planet: why kill or suicide?

    beautiful planet pandora

    beautiful planet pandora

Have you ever thought of killing yourself or attempting suicide after seeing something really beautiful? :(

A planet called Pandora, where dazzling plants lit up brightly and feel life as any human beings would feel in them. The lush green scenery is truly splendid and breathtaking; and definitely more than worthy of exploring the strange beautiful planet. Pandora gives you the feel of awe and wonder :P every now and then. It has got some really wild creatures like thunderous 6 leg Direhorse used for riding, when Direhorse is on the move it feels like whole planet :) is moving with them, massive hammerhead Titanothere one knock is enough to remember your whole generation of great grandfathers :D , most fearsome Thanator can finish anybody in less than a split second, another 6 leg creature Viperwolf might scare you to death, and Banshee use for flying in the sky but Banshee has to choose you before you can fly on it, and if you wonder how you will come to know whether banshee has chosen you or not, its simple, Banshee will try to kill you (Was that a bit scary? ;) ). Nevertheless there is beauty flowing all over the planet. The whole planet glow during night, as and when you walk on the incredible land it lit up with every footstep you take. The charismatic, breath-taking landscapes and floating mountains makes the experience a complete unforgettable one :P . The Hometree, tree of souls, holy spirit connects to the heart of all lives on Pandora; they respect the signal of Eywa.

Ready to kill or suicide, I would still say ‘NO’ (many of you would second me on this), this life is too precious.

Though there are people who thinks and hopes life should be the same as the movie depicts else I’m going to suicide - It’s happening, for real and no joke. I have something more for people who think alike, but that’s later in the article. more…

It’s Christmas time: A Modern day Christmas Story

    Christmas tree

    Christmas tree

On Christmas Eve, Grace, a cute young girl, is celebrating the best day of her life. She is truly enjoying every moment of this jolly good day. She goes to try out her new pretty pink dress with new matching earrings and necklace. She looks into the mirror; giggles; swings; and dances with joy. She thanks to Santa Claus for presenting her the best gifts in the world. She happily chooses her next gift from a whole bunch of lovely gifts present in front of the lovely decorated Christmas tree in all possible sizes: small, medium, large, semi-small, semi-medium, semi-large, tiny, and huge and what not! She chooses the medium one wrapped in pinkish color with lots of sparkles and stars on it. Merrily she opens it and finds a golden pair of glittering boots, she jumps in excitement. In wonder still, she picks the newly found treasure and wears it. She picks another gift, with never fading smile on her face and sparkling shine in her eyes, a tiny one: it is a silver slim bracelet with “Love Grace” written on it. She takes other present, smiles when she looks at her hand with love and at love, and opens it and finds a wonderfully dressed and prettily looking Barbie Christmas doll. She takes the Barbie high into the air and starts swinging and dancing with her in delight.

After opening up half of the gifts and later, some more gifts such as white boots, pompoms, some fashion accessories, a blue and a pink jacket, a reindeer bag, some new books and a journal, some more fashion accessories, some teddies, some adventure games. The task completed successfully. She doesn’t look to be as fresh as when she started this gift opening task. In fact, she is more fun and thrill after this. Finally, she stands and looks at the only unopened and a huge gift, she had already decided earlier that she will open this gift at the end. She looks at the gift and pictures what possibly it can be. She, then, takes a few steps and comes closer to the huge wrapped up gift with sparkling red sheet and stars on it. Smile on her face, ever increasing, while she tries to open the gift. After circling the huge gift, and removing all the tapes and ribbons and there she is free to open the gift. She claps while giggling to herself, when she finds a huge trampoline, awes and jumps onto the trampoline and bounce and bounce and bounce in joy, and wonder, and happiness.

Only $150bn and $100bn global climate fund

Earlier EU has announced a $150bn global fund. Now, U.S. has announced a deal of $100bn fund for the developing countries and the poor countries to fight against the climate change. The amount will be delivered till 2020. However, US want more transparency into the matters relating to the Climate change fund used by other countries.

To help you understand more about the problem world is facing today; you can look up the post Global warming, Climate Change and Copenhagen.

True to its words, developing nations are not going to follow any set-targets for emission cuts. They are concerned about the BASIC (Brazil, South Africa, India and China) draft which seems evident but still in vain. They are guessing that the blame game can start any time soon.

One thing is sure; we are not expecting any meaningful emission cuts from the developed nations. A Clear message on this has been provided by the US: “We don’t want to promise something we don’t have.”

But, Poor countries do not seem to be too content. They expected a lot more from Copenhagen.

We have heard these words all day long for almost last couple of weeks. Rightly so, it does need quick action now to be safer today rather than to be sorry tomorrow. Although, it is not easy to make a big decision which is concerning every possible human being alive on this world. Everybody knows that meeting two ends is impossible. The possibility here is only when people change places, when richer countries give a hand to the poor countries; when developed countries give a hand to the developing countries and they both (developed and developing countries) together give a hand to the undeveloped/poor countries. The world is at the need of a miracle to protect this planet. Sadly, it doesn’t seem to be happening at present.

Where it started and what is it?

Rising sea level started way long back when it weren’t even taken into consideration. Eventually, when it started sounding alarming it has got its much needed attention. It was a decade ago, when Scientist surmised that sea-ice would be gone by the end of this century. But now, they expect it to evaporate within a decade (approx). We do have solid reason to actually believe the scientists: The average annual sea level rate in the 20th century was half of the rising sea level rate at 3-3.5mm a year (at present).

The current average global temperature is only 5 degree c warmer than the last ice age. If it keeps increasing at the current level, it would reach the 5 degree c mark by the end of the century. Such a rise would probably lead to fast-melting ice sheets, rising sea levels, drought, disease and collapsing agriculture in poor countries, and mass migration. But nobody really knows, and nobody wants to know.

    Happy Thanksgiving Day!

    Happy Thanksgiving day!

Thanksgiving Day, as the name itself suggests, is a time to offer thanks. It is widely known as a part of western culture or festival (esp. US and Canada). But we do a lot of carbon copy of western culture. The most known everywhere, including India, is Valentines Day, now that day keeps many blushing, many crushing and many dropping. On Thanksgiving Day’s occasion, there are family gatherings and holiday meals. I am thankful to it at least as I get a couple of days off. Frankly, I really want to thank my family, friends and every one here at TG.

    A Thanksgiving Poem
Thank You Lord for this Thanksgiving Day. I have a few words I have to say.
Thank You for breath to live,
for the Holy Spirit to give,
    For eyes to see,
for the strength to be free,
    For ears to hear,
    for words that appear,
    For a mouth to speak,
    and knowledge to seek.
    For my hands to act,
    for my feet on track.
    For my heart to love,
    for gifts given from above,
For my mind to do Your Will,
for my soul to be still.
    For my body to live,
    for actions to give,
    For all my remaining days,
    to sing Your praise.

For the birds and the bees,
    for being on my knees,
    For colorful butterflies,
for the joys and the sighs,
    For trees dressed in green,
for a world to be seen,
    For mountains so high,
    for the clear blue sky
    For oceans so deep,
    for on beaches to sleep.
    For Your Animal Kingdom,
    My thanks from within.
For a house and a bed,
    warmth, light and bread.
    For music and sound
    My thanks are profound.
    For vision and sight,
    And the glorious night
    For weather so pleasant,
    For angels - heaven-sent
    For the sun that shines,
for the jewels that are mine.
    For family and friends,
    for love that never ends
    For life everlasting,
in Your Love I am basking
    For the language of prayer,
    for always being There.
    For the miracle of creation,
    For free gift of salvation.
    Thank You for You Lord,
    Your love is my reward.
    - Mary A. Shovlin

    A Thanks To my Friends

Thank you for being there when I needed you.
    And even when I didn’t,

Thank you for being there through the good times.
    And the bad,

Thank you for being there to encourage my dreams
    And my crazy ideas,
    Thank you for catching me.
    Before I fell down,
Thank you for wiping away the tears.
    When I was crying,
Thank you for cheering me up.
    And making me laugh,
Thank you for all the great memories.
    And the bad,
But most of all. thank you.
    For being you.

    Kane And Abel

    Kane & Abel
    2
One of the finest works of Jeffrey Archer, in fact I like all of his works, Kane & Abel is both bliss and heartbreaking, ups and downs, glory and defeat, no love and only hate between two men on their breathtaking journey to build greatest empire and becoming successful.

Revealing the story is no fun, I’m surely not going to get on that. What I’m going to share with you is a trailer and my learning’s from this immaculate book. Undeniably, any book is a treat for the beginner, like me, whether one is looking to improve skills, reasoning, vocabulary, or just reading because one loves to read.

Both men are witty and anticipating a lot of things in their lives, doing lots of research on their respective fields to be unbeaten, making decisions, learning the many lessons their life teaches them.
After getting to know about 60years of their life, one must have acknowledged that life is after all nothing but growing old whether becoming successful, learning from their past mistakes, or becoming better each time.

Both men are after each others life to ruin completely and become so adamant in the whole process that they couldn’t see that years are slipping by and it is no significance to stand on their own grounds. We learn that life present us with a single opportunity to live our years, either we can choose how we are going to live it and be flexible according to the circumstances or we can become obstinate with our life.

It is no doubt that Kane & Abel is a magnum opus and profoundly rich with life’s twist and turn.
