Well, more than the IIMs holding the actual CAT, I am more interested as to how the coaching classes grapple with this

Am not sure how the percentile calculation will be done though. And how do u make sure of the difficulty level of the questions - it is same for everyone.

This CAT is sure gonna be a lot of fun. A lot of topsy turvy results would be seen.

Computerized CAT

The Common Admission Test (CAT) of the Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) at Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Kolkata, Indore, Kozhikode, Lucknow, and Shillong is going to be aComputer Based Test (CBT) from this year onwards. The test will be conducted in a windowof about ten days sometime at the end of the calendar year. CBT CAT will be a candidatefriendlytest in terms of flexibility in the selection of test date, ease of registration process,better physical environment and test experience, and enhanced security in terms ofbiometric identification of candidates and video monitoring. CBT format also would improve communication between candidates and IIMs in terms of programme information, test delivery, receipt of admit cards, and receipt of score reports. IIMs have been conducting CAT in paper-&-pencil format for the last 33 years. This test isreputed to be the toughest entrance test for management and business schools worldwide.With growing student aspirations to undertake management education, the number ofcandidates appearing for CAT has been increasing manifold. While about 95,000 candidates took CAT in 2003, the number rose to about 250,000 in 2008 indicating a rise of a whopping 163 percent. This has resulted in severe strain on the administrative system ofIIMs to conduct CAT in its existing format.CBT is a natural culmination of the modernization CAT has undergone. In the late     1960s,multiple choice questions (MCQ), an educational testing innovation, was introduced for the first time in the entrance examinations of IIMs. Later, in the late 1970s, entrance tests of different IIMs were merged to form CAT. In the late 1980s, another technology feature was introduced in the form of optical machine reading (OMR) of the answer-sheets. Today, CAT is poised to take a CBT format comparable to the existing tests such as GMAT, GRE, and TOEFL but at substantially lower cost.

IIMs have selected Prometric ETS after a very elaborate search process to be their partner in delivering the computer-assisted CAT. More details will be  available on the computerised CAT along with the advertisement for CAT to be released later this summer.

Success is the most important aspect in everybody’s life, may be its definition might differ from one individual to another but not its motto. we humans go haywire on success and in the process we get into an obsession over it, just get lost ourselves in the translation….isn’t it? well, here I’m not against to success but I think we should not be an obsessive about it because there might be a chance of hurting our self or somebody in the process! In fact there will be a chance of missing many tiniest subtle aspects of life…which we mostly take for granted as trivial.

Why these situations arise? Guess, mostly because we always wanted to sustain the same amount of success forever! I know it sounds very much like GREEDY…nevertheless, it’s not wrong but going nuts on it…at the cost of anything!…yeah, literally anything will be just suicidal!

I think rather going gaga about success…one could…perhaps should be doing is just taking sometime out and cherish for smallest moments and keep updating virtues of his/her.

So, it will be better one should be optimistic for the future ramifications and move consequently ….

Always understand…..Success is No Big Deal - rather it is the compounding of many small things….. It is really the result of small improvements.

Why all of a sudden, this topic…..well, on Sunday I did watch a movie …called fashion on the COLOURS….absolutely not for colours Ha ha…. Nope, though it reveals the solid rigidity of their corsets! …Jokes apart…the movie is certainly not a bad choice for an avocation.

Eh…Mr.Madhur bhandarkar got a taste! ….I know his movies always goes with rationale element over others…take whatever…Chandini Bar or Traffic signal..etc. Those all got to do something with society and its value system ….follows with all kind of catechism.

Fashion…is based on the dark matters which goes round the world of fashion, the movie depicts reality through the protagonist’s eye….Even this film indirectly has lesson on success….one should not get obsessive over it as priyanka’s role….right after super model…is just got tormented.

Anyway i like the movie….may not be the best flick but seriously genuine attempt by Madhur.
