While the world has been goin all ga-ga over Copenhagen in the past week, raising a huge hue and cry about global warming, I have been holding my own little conference by myself about climate change. And I have come to the conclusion that holding conferences like Copenhagen won’t help a wee bit. Farmville is in fact the future. While over 70 million people have played this wonder since its inception on Facebook, I believe that its true potential is yet to be realized.
What with insane growth rate of all kinds of crops and no concept of winter and summer crops, the game has unbounded potential. And with people stuck on their computers all day long, the factors which led to global warming : industries, vehicles, etc etc are bound to be less effective in this insane destruction of the planet. The numerous plants and crops on Farmville are also bound to help in reducing the pollution albeit in a more virtual way than is conventionally accepted. As far as financing the poor nations is concerned, Zynga can give some of the shitloads of money it raises for Farmville which should be enough to sustain some part of Africa. For the remaining parts, we always have Mafia Wars and Cafe World.
Some people lampoon Farce Farmville but I stand up in support. After all where can you get such a cheap solution for a problem which requires America to pay pledge 100 billion dollars and leave other countries whining for more.
If you think that Farmville is only helping curb global warming, you are highly mistaken. If there is anything in recent times that has helped repair broken friendships and re-unite separated relatives, it has to be Farmville. Come on, how many times have you seen pleas to keep the “found” black sheep and pink cow and not have tears in your eyes ? Such emotional stuff would melt the hearts of beasts, we are after all human. And the fact that you can actually fertilize your friends’ farms gives you the opportunity to help a friend with the click of a mouse. As they say “A Friend Removing Weed Is A Friend Indeed”.
Farmville has also been attributed to be a great confidence builder. After all, with titles attached to every small detail from shoveling to harvesting, even George Bush would have been wishing that he had Farmville back when he was Prez. It took America 8 years to realize how stupid smart George Bush was. Wonder how long it would take for Farmville.
Farmville has also played a big role in promoting national unity. Don’t believe me ? Well Indian unity at least. Check this out. Now that the flags of several nations has been added to Farmville, America can safely identify the next country which has WMD’s and annihilate it to oblivion.
Farmville has promoted the rural way of life big time. Whenever I see “________ has given up their city life and decide to become a farmer“, I feel some small corner of my heart cry out in pain. What am I doing live this fast and horrific life in city when “________” has taken the right step and moved towards a better life in the countryside ?
Farmville also teaches you compassion. You realize that animals and plants ( who cares if they are virtual ? ) are also “living beings” with their own needs and requirements. And you learn to love those plants as much as you love your children. Or in some cases like this one, more than your children.
Farmville has also brought out the creative streak among the masses. The thought and creativity that goes behind each farm would probably put even Pablo Picasso to shame. Here are some of em great pics.
But as we know, success breeds jealousy. Mr Kumar from India is planning to file a lawsuit against Zynga. He complains that as he had been suffering from insomnia, he had joined Farmville so that he could sleep by counting sheeps . But he claims that Farmville has taken such a hold of him that he stays up all night to check on his crops and flock.
Because Farmville has achieved so much in such a short span of time, I have come to realize that Farmville is actually mean for the “greater good”. So in order to help further its cause, I’ll soon be developing a new game along the lines of Farmville. It has been imaginatively titled as “FartVille”. While there would certainly be a noticeable increase in global warming after my game becomes popular ( how can it not ? ), I expect big bro Farmville to help me through the difficult phase. And when you compare with the numerous other benefits that Fartville would provide, global warming doesn’t seem so big a deal after all.
As I was telling you … Oops ! My Farmville crops are dying .. Gotta go now. So long.

ROFL!!Brilliant..That is one kick arse post bro..*bows down in respect* Humour has never been my cup of tea and u just linked the chain of events with humour so well.
Secret: I have found a way to put my farmville on Auto-Pilot.I dont even have to click once to plant, seed, harvest and wteva crap load of stuff that u have in there.Wondering if anyone would be willing to pay for it.I could make a killing:-)Will do a post on my blog asking if someone would pay for it
PS:: I tweeted this post too to my 1060 followers:-)
Thnx … Means a lot coming from you

Wouldn’t it take the “fun” out of Farmville if you put these things on Auto-Pilot. I have seen people play Farmville and they seem to enjoy this as much as they enjoy the other stuff. You could still make a killing though
PS : I saw ! Thnx !
Brillainto Bazinga…You know i have seen my roommate rush to PLOUGH straight after coming from office…What dedication…
And i swear I almost cried when the fishes of my FISHVILLE died because of damn power cut;)
Thank You
.. But I still don’t get the reason behind the craze. I mean, I have seen many of my friends playing and I just can’t figure out why someone would enjoy playing such a game, except of course for the reasons mentioned in the post
Me too yaar…tried giving Farmville a try but it demanded more attention than a girlfriend and Fishville also turned out to be Fuss-ville for me;)
I have seen my bro playing this game for quite sometime now, feels like he has been stick with a glue
bwahaha… at times when I am trying to write some serious stuff in relation to the global crisis and its solutions, this post amuses me to heights unachievable otherwise, bro. An awesome post. While all the stupid delegates of the major world powers were shitting over each other’s faces in copenhagen, our dearest bazinga came up with a genius plan to save earth… hail bazinga
@OnTheGo : can’t say any different about my friends either
… Thnx a lot
@Sahil : I Like that : Hail bazinga
You guys embarass me:-(I am a nobody in the blogging world…

More than anything Farmville is mind blowing case study for making a product sticky.I did a post on trak.in earlier.will probably do one more with time
lollllllllllllllll..damn! and to think that I didn’t know about the game! lololol ..good piece of writing
I once tried playing this game on facebook but I got all confused. Also the fact that I access facebook barely once during the day, farmville took a back seat. But I guess my friends are thoughtful enough that they keep sending me all the organic gifts even months after I left the game.
Darn! how much you know about this game?
I am going to put your post link on my facebook wall now.
“Going ga-ga” is linked to Lady Gaga. ROFL!!
