  IMI

Q:In which order IMI hyd and Bang?
Nupur Goyal
A: To decide among the available branches of a given college, one must always rank the older branch higher. Hence whichever is older between IMI Hyderabad and IMI Banglore should be preferred.

Q: Which all courses to apply at IMI?
Aakash
A: Fill PGDM - Delhi (1st preference)and PGDMHR - Delhi for sure. These are the two flagship courses of IMI Delhi. Do not fill banking and insurance or any other specialisation unless you are sure of the course and your love for it.

You may or may not fill PGDM for Kolkata and Bhubaneshwar campuses as they are newer and not as established as Delhi one. However, if you wish to keep them as last resort in case you secure below 85 percentile and still would want to join this yer itself, then you may fill.

Any candidate with 2 years of more of work experience should definitely fill ISB, Great Lakes and SPJMIR (SP JAIN) and should take GMAT as all these colleges accept GMAT score either solely or along with other percentiles such as that of CAT, XAT etc. The reason for applying to these is simple- Since 90% of the aspirants do not have 2 years of work experience, which is more or less a prerequisite to get to any of these colleges, your competition reduces drastically.

IRMA- This is not a general MBA program but a niche specialisation, like MBA in IT, Petroleum, software enterprises etc. Being a niche specialisation, it would restrict the scope of your profile and thus it should be opted by only those who are clear with their career goals and see IRMA to be a step in that direction. Typically people who join IRMA are the ones who strongly feel for the challenges faced by rural sector and wish to bring the change needed. In case you are not that person, steer clear of it.

Answer: Hello Manu

As a student with 3 years of work experience, you should definitely aim for SPJAIN, Great lakes and ISB. Know that for ISB, you will have to appear for GMAT, which is not much different from CAT. Go to the websites of these colleges and check their deadline wrt GMAT score. SPJAIN takes CAT score as well, so does Great Lakes. Apart from these, sim for all colleges which take over 90 percentile.

  Sir,
As a fresher Should I apply for S.p Jain.

Answer: You would not have much luck there but you may apply nonetheless, unless money is an issue. You may get selected if you have a very strong profile and add diversity (a different course than ussual)

  sir
In the CMAT form, the options specified for 10+2 years are ambiguous and confusing.
There are five options mentioned :
10th + SSC(state board),
10th + SSC(CBSE),
10th + ICSE,
10th + HSC and
Any other.

I suppose 10th+ SSC imply one and the same thing.I have done my 10th and 12th from CBSE Board. Which option should I select..?

  Sir,

While filling for LBS we have to select preference for the course between pgdm-general and pgdm-finance? Which option should be selected as preference one as I am more inclined towards finance also if I select finance first does it reduce my chances for selection as there are less seats in finance as compared to general?
