If n is odd: It crawls n degrees in the anticlock wise direction along the circumference of the circle Cn. From that point, it moves from circle Cn to the circle Cn+1 along the shortest linear path.
If n is even: It crawls n degrees in the clockwise direction along the circumference of the circle Cn.
From that point, it moves from Cn to the circle Cn+1 along the shortest possible path.
