relative percentages

  dear tagny, kamal et al, the masters of creative math as i would like to address all of you.. pls solve this for me and the detailed funda.. i'm getting all tangled here..


3 boys contest a school election.
A gets atleast 40% of all votes
B gets atleast 20% of votes that A gets
AND CANNOT get more than 80% of the votes C gets.

The maximum percentage of votes that A can get is:
a)25% - b)31% - c)39% - d)20% - e)18%

I think the question asked here is wrong...

In first line itsef it is given that A should get atleast 40% of all votes...and all options are less than 40%...

But if it is a question for max B>>>>>

Then its ans is Bmax= 26% of all votes.

 

(A= 40%, B=26% and C= 34% of all votes)

Pls confirm this ans..
