lets say, the two digit number,which gets the same remainder(R) with both the numbers is A
now, 10417= Ak + R

9637= Al + R

subtracting Ak + R - (Al + R) = A(k-l)

means the number( A(k-l) ) which we get on subtracting the two numbers would surely be divisible by the same number(A)
