simple interest sum asked 7 times in CAT. Solve it

  a person lent out some money at 6 percent p.a. At simple interest and after 18 mnths, he again lent out the same money at a simple interest of 24 percent p.a.. In both the cases, he got Rs. 4704. Which of these could be the amount that was lent out in each case if interest is paid half yearly???

  Hi mohit... i took 1st time as X years and 2nd one as (X+1.5)yr.
1.5 is because the questn says aftr 18 months, he invests again...this was the final eqn.:

X.6.y/(2.100)=(X+1.5).24.y/(2.100)
