nearest centimeter, are 6 centimeters long. The
least possible value of the actual area of the
square region is
A.36.00 sq cm
B.35.00 sq cm
C.33.75 sq cm

  Hi Any,

I think answer should be 30.25.... reason being, the range of values for side of square are 5.5<X<6.0 and 6.0<X<6.5.  The least possible value will be when X takes 5.5......

this is my guess on this.

  Hi Amit ..The minimum value will be 3.

Applying A.M > H.M

[x+y+z/3] > {(1/x)+(1/y)+(1/z)}/3

on solving the following inequality comes:
{(1/x)+(1/y)+(1/z)}>3..hence 3 will be the desired value

  answer as given in solution for square problem is  C ,, that is 33.75 ,, unable to figure out how ,,, may be it is wrong answer ,,,,,

  Considering the least possible value as 5.5, the area would be 30.25. Rounding up 5.4 to the nearest value will result in 5. So it must me at least 5.5 to round to 6.
