OG 12-CR Problem

The % of households with an annual income of 40K or more is higher in M County than in any other county.However,the % of households with an annual income of 60K or more is higher in S County.

Which of the following is truw, if above is true:-

1.% of Households with annual income of 80Kis higher in S County than in M county.

2.M County has second highest % of households with an annual income of 60K or more.

3.Some houiseholds in M County have an annual income between 40K and 60K.

4.Number of households with an annual income of more than 40K is greater in M County than in S County.

 

Ans is 3 , but not 4.

I agree 3 is correct , but I fail to understand what\'s wrong with 4.

Please explain?

  As the 1st line states that %of households with 40k or more as annual income in M county is greater than S county..
let,no of households with 40k r more income in M county=a
total no of households in M county =b
no of households with 40k or more income in S county = c
total no of households in S county = d


therfore,a/b > c/d

which doesnt necessarily implies that a>c,it may be or may not be depending on values of b and c...
