Hi Brendan,

Euphemisms are used to make something not sound as bad as it actually is.
Eg.

The Nazis used euphemism in referring to their plan to murder the world's Jews as “the Final Solution.”
lady of the evening for prostitute
Mentally challenged or special for mentally retarded
Differently abled for handicapped
In an interesting condition for pregnant
Paying guest for a lodger
Passed away for died etc.

Let me know if it's still not clear.smile

  Hi Dagny,

I'm unable to frame sentences where 'Contemptuous', 'Incendiary' and 'Populist' tones could be pointed out. Please help me out.

Thanks!
