  Hi All,

I am currently reading 'Great Expectations' by Charles Dickens. [Rupa Co.]

What is bothering me is the usage of words and misspellings in the book!

Below are a few:

  • Then I am sorry to say, I've eat your pie
  • he were that good in his hart
  • I'm dead afeerd of going wrong..
Is it possible that the above kind of errors are only in the copy of book I am reading? I am not feeling to proceed ahead with the reading of this book sad

Hi Avi, these are not spelling errors. The author wants to portray the limitations of the characters he has chosen to depict. Imagine Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of a beggar in a film, do you think he would be made to speak as crisply as he does on Kaun Banega Crorepati?????
Hope it helps.
