  Hi Kamal,

SP Jain uses various criteria such as good continuous education, versatility, good value system, work experience, CAT/XAT score (whichever is higher), SOP etc. to shortlist the candidates. Also, SP Jain is known to send calls to many students on the basis of the admission form. You are required to finalize the area of specialization at the time of applying. The institute follows the Group Interview process for evaluation.

The article says that 85 is the minimum score in both CAT and XAT. IS this official? I know people who got admission with 67 percentile in CAT. The guy had got profile based call. My call is also profile based and XAT score is 81.33 percentile.Screwed up CAT big time. Any chance for me?If 85 is a hard cut off...I don't think I should go all the way to Mumbai

  Hey Prateek,

I have known many people in past who have got calls based on their profile. 85%le is the standard that SP Jain has mentioned but Sp Jain especially gives a lot of weightage to profiles. I think you must definitely go.smile BOL!

Hi Dagny,

I visitied the SP jain site. For admissions to PGDM,their slection criteria is mentioned as follows -

Test score: CAT 2008 or XAT 2009 or GMAT (taken in 2008).

This year SPJIMR will have the interview process scheduled during March 2009 through March 2008. Since the interviews commence before the CAT2008/XAT2009 results are declared, the short listing for the first round of interview will be on the basis of academic performance, versatility in extra-curricular activities and relevant work experience. Candidates who clear the first round will appear for a second round on the same day. However, the minimum score required to get the final offer is 85 percentile in CAT2008/XAT2009 or a score of 680 in GMAT taken in 2008

Interviews before the declaration of CAT results will be held in Mumbai only. Interviews after the CAT results will be held at other locations too, which will be announced shortly.

I could not understand this. Will they send interview calls before CAT 2008 results are out?please clarify.

  Hi Chota ghada

I am appearing for S P Jain first time.
I need your help upon following things

1. Profile based call from S. P. Jain. what is that ?
2. What to write in Personal attributes (I don't have any such faadu extra curricular activities which I can boast off in the S P Jain application form so does that mean that my chances of getting a call are nill)

Thanks & Regards
