The results of CAT 2009 are likely to be declared by the third week of February 2010. Because of CAT 2009 retest on January 30th and 31st, 2010, the CAT 2009 results have been delayed. About 2.42 lakh candidates registered for CAT 2009. In the first administration window (i.e., from November 28th to Dec 8th, 2009) about 2.16 lakh candidates completed the test. About 10% of the total registered applicants (24,000) did not show up for CAT 2009 - a percentage that is similar to what has been experienced in the past. The remaining 2000 CAT candidates who were rescheduled remain to be tested on January 30th and 31st, 2010.
The results can be found on the individual IIM sites:
Because of relatively simple paper this year, the expected cutoffs are going to be high and IIM calls are probably going to be given to a larger number of students. Online CAT has not gone smoothly and there are a lot of doubts regarding CAT results. IIMs have also not disclosed the marking schemes for the CAT papers in all the slots. Even the students whose CAT has gone well are full of anxiety this year. Only coming February will tell how IIMs are going to handle the CAT Scores this year.
